Another record breaking year - exam successWe are delighted with the results achieved by our students this year – a true reflection of the hard work and effort put in by both the students and the staff that have worked alongside them. We are particularly pleased with the rise in the number of students who obtained over 5 A*-C grades, including English and Mathematics, which has risen by 10% to 74%. Both our English and Mathematics departments exceeded last year’s results with 83% of students passing their English and 80% awarded a pass grade in Mathematics.
In line with the new government expectations and measures, we have also seen a very healthy rise in the number of students achieving the EBacc suite of qualifications, with 40% of students gaining an A*-C pass in English, Mathematics, Science, a Humanities subject and a Foreign Language.
Talking about this year’s exam success Mrs Elizabeth Wylie, Headteacher, commented “I would like to congratulate all of our students on their success. There are so many individuals who have surpassed their targets and there have been some outstanding personal achievements. I wish them all good luck in their future endeavours.”
Particularly outstanding results were achieved by Alexandra Judkins and Joanna Vines who secured 12 GCSEs passes all at A* grade. Also, Seren Irwin achieved 10 A*, 1 A and 1 B grade and Dan Stoller 9 A* and 3 A grades. View Article
