GCSE Summer 2021 Press Release

Statement from the Headteacher, Mr Stephen Mann The class of 2021, like many thousands of students up and down the country, have had to endure a torrid couple of years with so much uncertainty and disruption to their learning.  However, it has been a real pleasure for the staff at Amery Hill School to celebrate the individual achievements of each and every student as they received their GCSE results. Throughout the last eighteen months Amery Hill’s students have been a credit to their school and families in the way they have continued to work tirelessly on their studies, even when faced with so many obstacles being thrown at them without warning.  Whilst the media and political narrative has been less than supportive around the achievements of this group of students, we believe these results will show a much truer reflection of a student’s aptitude and understanding of their subjects.  The variety of assessment opportunities students have been given has allowed them to showcase their very best and not be reliant on a one off, all or nothing examination.  These unprecedented challenges have brought out the very best qualities in our students and their results are a tribute to not only their dedication, but the determination, empathy and care of all of our staff at Amery Hill School who have supported, enthused and when required carried them every step of the way. Our congratulations to all of our students and a special mention to our top performers including Monty Austin, Karina Barwick, Bear Crawford, Hannah Davies, Esme Doyle, Maia Fuller, Isobel Horton, Lewis Kelley, Izzy Malatesta, Margaux Meakin, Hannah Swain and Beatrice Vickery. A number of students have made outstanding progress and we celebrate their achievements: Charlie Baker, Erika Booth, Jessica Clarke, Eleanor Ford, Isobel Goldie, Fred Harris, Sophie Housley, Grace Hunter, Anna Munckton, Cedrick Ortega, Toby Phillips and Zoe Swan. We wish all our students every success, health and happiness for the future - this is your time, now go out there and take it!View Article
